President Obama Declares Combat Missions in Iraq have Ended

President Obama declared this tonight:
"The United States has paid a huge price to put the future of Iraq in the hands of its people," Obama said in an address from the Oval Office. "... Through this remarkable chapter in the history of the United States and Iraq, we have met our responsibility. Now, it is time to turn the page."
Here is the speech.

Please leave a comment and let me know what you thought about the speech and about the war in Iraq.  Ideas are all I'm looking for here.  There are no right or wrong ones.  We are all Americans and should share our voice about what is happening in our country and in our world.

We did not have an opportunity to cover the story this week, but we will in the future.

I think it's a good thing. We have done so much for Iraq, and it's great to help out, but we have to gather our country back together again. I'm all for people each doing their part to help, but I do agree that the combat should stop. We've had enough violence - and the soldiers need to go home.

We devoted more time to the War in Iraq than we did to any other war in US history. Hard to believe.

And most Americans can't really even explain why we were there...
